GO-MARIE Mapping Climate Change in Greenland

The Ocean Research Project 2022 Expedition - GO-MARIE- will be the maiden voyage of the organization’s flagship, the R/V Marie Tharp, a 22m overall Bruce Roberts steel schooner. The namesake honors an often widely under-recognized woman scientist for her great efforts to develop the first detailed maps of the ocean seafloor.

Matt Rutherford, ORP Director, is custom preparing the steel schooner for the ambitious expedition while Nicole Trenholm, ORP Science Director coordinates the multi-objective collaborative international science mission of higher latitudes. There will be a base crew of 6 and 5 rotating ocean science experts during the voyage.
